Winter’s Edge Gatherings

The coming of winter urges us to turn inward, to take time for quiet reflection and stillness. But the fervor of noise and bright lights, shopping, overindulging, and festivities can overpower the contemplative pull. Grief, loneliness, the current stress of political instability, or the basic struggle to stay afloat may deplete our spirits. Stress and pressure can outweigh comfort and joy, and leave us feeling empty and isolated. Some people don’t celebrate midwinter holidays at all, or do so uneasily.

On Thursday evenings, December 15, 22, and 29, Living Earth's door will be open, with hot tea waiting inside. Come light a candle, enjoy warm company, and rest your heart. Short readings or poetry will spark responses and invite us be present just as we are.

We don’t want to ignore sadness or discomfort, and if those feelings kindle a yearning for simple belonging, for the quiet of sacred space and for opportunities to connect in warmhearted ways, please join us.
