Join Joanna Macy and Living Earth for this special benefit dinner to support the antinuclear educational and environmental programs of the NGO Viola.
This evening is limited to 20 guests, by advance reservation, $150. Guests will receive a $100 donation receipt for tax purposes, for the contribution that will support Viola. Joanna will talk about her connection to Viola's work and about the vital importance of creative, focused activism in this era of growing instability and nuclear escalation.
The Elm Dance, which Joanna has led in countless workshops all around the world, is connected to the story of the NGO Viola in the downwind path of Chernobyl.
A gutsy and effective grassroots group, Viola offers education, tools, and practical support to community groups, civic leaders, youth clubs, and schools to encourage safe choices and critical awareness for those living in irradiated regions. Located in Bryansk, Russia, Viola serves the region affected by the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster and shares information, best practices, and resources with communities in radiation zones around the world. Joanna and Fran, her late husband, have ardently supported Viola's work for more than 25 years.
This evening will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with Joanna and like-spirited friends who share a deep love and commitment to protecting this beautiful planet we all call home.
Early reservations are suggested. Limited to 28 guests and all proceeds will support Viola.
