Winter Solstice Ceremony & Celebration

  • Quaker Meeting House 4312 Southeast Stark Street Portland, OR, 97215 United States (map)

Come, come! Ours is not a caravan of despair . . .

Celebrate the timeless dance of the heavens
with candlelight, ceremony, ritual, magic and beauty.

Solstice is that ineffable moment every winter when time holds its breath, when the world balances for just a heartbeat between deepening darkness and the return of light.

Join us for ceremony and ritual to ground our hearts and intentions for the coming year.  We'll speak our truths and dreams to let go and let in. We'll sing and dance together, bow to the Mystery, and fire up our hearts for the winter ahead.

Bring altar items to soak in the strength and beauty of the ceremony, to take home when the evening ends.

Artists, activists, families, friends, dreamers and dancers, yogis and young ones, elders and earth-lovers, wonderers and wanderers of every description are welcome.

Suggested donation: $10 - $20, but all are welcome. Children are welcome with parent, if your child would enjoy this contemplative celebration. Kids under 10, free; over 10, $5.

If payment is a barrier, please contact us about volunteer-trade options.

Proceeds support Living Earth's Compassion in Actions projects, and our programs that cultivate peace, justice, beauty, and balance in our lives and in our world.

Come bring in the light with us!
