Join us for an easy, open-hearted summer picnic on the east side of Mount Tabor, 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, August 20, just ahead of the eclipse.
This is a wild time in our world. Across the spectrum there's a looming sense of dread, of eclipse, a sense that something very central to our deepest values and beliefs is being submerged by some rising darkness. So much focus is on that menacing shadow and its unrecognizeable features that we lose sight entirely of what it is that will momentarily be hidden. Of what we love, and why we care.
Let's gather for love, and for beauty, for friendship and affirmation and celebrate the radiant beauty of the self-luminous sun -- its warmth and brilliance, its power and light.
Bring a friend and veg/vegan picnic food to share. Bring drums and rattles, your banjo or bassoon, violin or kazoo. We'll share good food, music, and the nourishing delight of a beautiful summer evening with good folks. Leashed four-legged buddies are welcome, too.
WHERE: Mount Tabor's EAST Picnic Area B, facing Mount Hood. Enter the Park from SE Belmont or Yamhill at SE 69th, and go left. Look for prayer flags and a sign just a little ways up the road, and our site to the left. Bring a friend, and a veg/vegan dish to share, and join us!
