Gatherings and Celebrations
Living Earth Community Gatherings are opportunities to gather as friends and companions on the path.
Discussions reflect on the chosen book of the month. Selected titles are announced a month in advance to serve as the basis for discussion.
Book Discussions are usually on the first Thursday of each month, 7-9 pm at Living Earth. Suggested donation: $5 to $20 but all are welcome.
Second Sunday Potlucks begin in January, scheduled for each month, 6-8:30 pm, at Friends Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark. A video clip, speaker, or article will provide a frame for after-dinner discussion; themes will be announced in advance. Bring a veg/vegan dish to share and join us. By donation.
Living Earth Picnics are informally scheduled during warm months, usually at a picnic site at Mount Tabor or Laurelhurst Park. Dates and locations are announced a couple of weeks in advance.
Celebrations round out our year. We’ve celebrated Winter Solstice annually since 1998, just before Solstice, and summer is marked with an Interdependence Picnic Celebration on July 4. Other impromptu gatherings, potlucks, and celebrations pop up through the year.
