Vital Conversations

The current political climate puts many core values of our society at risk, and calls us to participate more actively and skillfully than ever before. Vital Conversations address crucial topics and challenge us to see the world differently, to move forward with an open heart and take creative, effective action.

Vital Conversations provide space to examine our experiences and understanding of social systems that underlie racism, “other-ism,” and oppression. We explore climate change and environmental destruction; the erosion of democratic institutions and principles; and the widening gulf that is splitting our country.

We envision a world where justice, compassion, creativity, and love are core values, where no one is left out. Vital Conversations nourish that vision and incubate that possibility, helping each of us discern where we are pulled to engage, where we get stuck, and where can play our most meaningful part.

Each month, a brief video clip, written article, or short talk prefaces our discussion. The topic for each gathering is announced in advance.
