Being Alive Here and Now
Sunday Aug. 31 5:30–7:30 POTLUCK and Community Discussion
Friends Meeting House
4312 SE Stark, Room 12
All are welcome, fully accessible.
Join us for an early veg-vegan Potluck at 5:30 pm, followed by a Being Alive Here and Now Community Discussion. If possible bring a potluck dish for 5-8 folks, and join us. Food will be great, and the conversation will be thoughtful, honest, and sometimes difficult, but always supportive.
These Community Discussions are thoughtfulo pportunities to breathe together, acknowledge the losses, the challenges, and the possibilities now at hand. We center principles of peaceful resistance and engaged nonviolence, supporting compassion, creativity, and courage in a difficult time. In dialogue, we find our own truth and our own work for peace, justice, and creative action in this this moment. And we find resilience and stability in community.
The conversations are heartening, built on compassion and care — a time to listen and to reflect in this increasingly volatile time. We do not attempt to convince others, but to hear each other, deepen our understanding, and enrich our perspectives. Using a light framework, everyone is welcome to contribute, listen, and engage. Right actions and skillful responses emerge so each of us can hold up our piece of the sky in our communities, and far beyond. Please join us!
