Open Door Dharma Gathering

vegan caribbean feastKirtan/Meditation 3:30-4:45 pm            Potluck & Debate Watch: 5:00–7:30 pm

Hanuman Casita PDX
3841 SE 51st Ave., 2 blks south of Foster

Arrive early for Dharma Circle, or come a little later for the Potluck as we watch the Sanders-Biden debate.

House rules! Breathe with open hearts, kindness, and respect for others during and after the debate. A great opportunity to practice compassionate attention and mindful awareness.

3:30–4:45: Open Door Dharma Circle with kirtan, reflection, and a 15-minute meditation.

5:00–7:30: A veg/vegan potluck as we watch the Democratic debate, and have time in conversation and community.

7:30: A short meditation on compassion for all beings, being we close up shop and go our own ways in the evening.

Careful attention will be paid to the era of health concern we’ve entered, with hand sanitizer, mindful cleaning, and disinfecting steps.

Bring a small veg or vegan dish for potluck (one that won’t need preparation). Anything easy made with a smile would be great. Before we close, we’ll share a brief meditation for the benefit of all beings.

Whatever your path or practice, join us for practice, community, good food, and mindful attention – we’re all folks who love this beautiful, broken world, who are finding ways to tend the wounds around us with love and kindness, and active compassion.

Stop by any time. We’ll sip chai, sing kirtan, and sit a while, then shift our attention to share a good meal in good company as we pay attention to the debate between Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.

Walking each other home.Bring Something for Folks Outdoors

Spring may be here, but folks who are unhoused are still living outdoors. Actions of kindness and caring matter, everywhere. NEW or LIKE-NEW socks, hats, and scarves are much appreciated. For all ages – kids, adults, elderlies. All items should be in good condition like you’d offer to family. We’ll distribute them on the streets and to shelters.
