Open Door Dharma Circles | 2nd and 4th Sunday afternoons, 3:30-5:30pm
Our Circles open with an hour to sit, chant, and practice together, 3:30-4:30 pm
Then we shift to Being Here Now, 4:30–5:30, a time for sweets and open conversation, drawing from our hearts, our practice to reflect on the precious, complicated world we live in.
End of Summer Sunday Dates: Aug 9 and Aug 23
Friends Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark, PDX, Room 12
The door is open, all are welcome ~
These Sunday afternoon circles begin with an hour of simple practice — sitting, chanting, and quiet meditation. After a short break at 4:30, we stretch and shift to conversation with tea and sweets. In the light of dharma teachings and principles, we reflect on the joys and challenges facing us, cultivating resilience and community solidarity as we listen and see what emerges in the moment.
The space is fully accessible and carpeted, with comfortable chairs. Please bring a cushion if you prefer floor-sitting.
Open Door gatherings reflect teachings and practices shared by Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba, as well as Joanna Macy, Joan Halifax, and other dharma teachers, traditions, and lineages.
These gatherings and practices ease the heart as we nurture stability, belonging, and the capacity to be present no matter what arises.
The door is open, so join us when you can — for chanting and meditation, for conversation later — or for both.
