Sunday Aug.16  Summer Potluck Picnic

5:00 til 7:30 pm, Laurelhurst Park, Picnic Area F

(Where all of our picnics have been for the past three or four years. (See directions below)

Bring your favorite food and utensils and join us for a summer picnic in the heart of the city. We’ll share good food and celebrate the beauty of  life in the Pacific Northwest, here on Planet Earth, and our solidarity with all people of good will and all living beings everywhere.

BYO Food that , and a little veg or vegan something to share if you can. We’ll enjoy good company and  conversation about what’s beautiful, what’s possible, and what’s hard in our world these days.

If you play an instrument, bring it along —— music is welcome!   (No alcohol or recreational substances, please, per our park permit.)

Breaking bread is the beating heart of community.  All are welcome!

IDEAS TO BRING:

  • Your own plate and utensils,
  • A veg or vegan dish  (whatever keeps you healthy),
  • Maybe a beverage, but no intoxicants, per our park permit.
  • Musical instruments of any kind, and family and friends of all ages (four-leggeds on leashes)

DIRECTIONS:

Laurelhurst Park Picnic Area F ~ 5:30– 7:30 or 8:00 pm.

1. From the north side, enter the park near  on Ankeny, near where the restrooms are, and stroll on the path a  ways to the west toward the Brick Stairway. Look for bright Tibetan prayer flags on the trees.

2. Or enter on the south side, at 35th Ave. and Oak Street, and stroll a ways in on the path as it curves to the right, and look for the Tibetan Prayer flags on the trees, on your left.  (If you make it to the restrooms, you’ve gone too far.)

We’ll celebrate a great turning from grief and destruction toward generous ways of living with kindness and joy  in tune with the great, thrumming heart and the single breat that flows  through every species and being that shares this amazing Earth.
