Thursday Open Door Dharma Circle
Friends Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark, Room 21
Thursday afternoon, June 26, 4:00–5:30 pm
All are welcome. Rm 12 is on the first floor
Join us for meditation, chanting, and reflection, followed by chai, discussion, and conversation. The Meeting House is fully accessible. The room is carpeted and has comfortable chairs. Please bring a cushion if you prefer floor-sitting.
At 4:00 pm we settle in the heart. For 45 minutes, simple chanting and silence in the bhakti and Buddhist traditions settle our hearts with focused intention. The path shared by Ram Dass, Neem Karoli Baba, includes the wisdom of many teachers, cultures, and lineages. Our practice includes mindful awareness, chanting, simple silence, and compassionate service.
With a slight break to get tea and prasad, we shift to lightly framed dialogue, reflecting on teachings as they apply here and now, in this time of world crisis.
Open Door Dharma Circles provide a compassionate space to explore wisdom footprints left across time and cultures. They support resilience and help us navigate being here now with open hearts and love for our beautiful planet home in a troubled time.
The door is open, come by when you can, to chant and sit, or a little for dharma dialogue, community, and conversation. Questions? Please contact us!
Open Door Dharma Gatherings are freely offered and all are welcome. For those drawn to offer support, a jar is usually on the tea table. The spirit of dana is appreciative generosity, and it keeps the dharma wheel turning. Whether dropping dollars in the jar or making a gift or pledge online, we welcome your support. Your dana helps keep the dharma circles going and supports workshops and retreats, community gatherings and potlucks, and our service projects and social engagement.
