2nd Sunday Open Door Dharma Circle
July 13, 4:00–6:00 pm.
Friends Meeting House,
4312 SE Stark, Room 21
Join us for meditation, chanting, and reflection, followed by chaiand conversation. The Meeting House is fully accessible, the room is carpeted and has comfortable chairs. Please bring a cushion if you prefer floor-sitting.
At 4:00 pm simple chanting and silence in the bhakti and Buddhist traditions settle our hearts. The path shared by Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba includes the wisdom of many teachers, cultures, and lineages. Our practice includes mindful awareness, chanting, simple silence, and compassionate service.
After an hour, we have tea and prasad, then shift to lightly framed dialogue, reflecting on teachings as they apply in our lives, here and now in a time of global crisis.
Open Door Dharma Circles provide a compassionate space to explore wisdom footprints left across time and cultures that deepen awareness and support resilience. Together we navigate being here now with open hearts and love for our world in a troubled time.
The door is open, come by when you can, to chant and sit, or a little for dharma dialogue, community, and conversation. Questions? Please contact us!
Open Door Dharma Gatherings are freely offered and all are welcome. If you’re inclined to offer support, a jar is usually on the tea table. The spirit of dana — appreciative generosity at any level— keeps the dharma wheel turning. Whether dropping dollars in the jar or making a gift or pledge online, or mailing a check, your support is welcome.
Dana helps our dharma circles continue and supports workshops and retreats, community gatherings and potlucks, and our service projects and social engagement.
