In the darkest days of the year, the earth turns through the heavens to a pivotal moment: Winter Solstice. The Solstice brings a powerful vortex of dark, cold, and reflection, with just a hint of light that glows on the horizon of our dreams.

Come celebrate the magical moment when winter turns toward light. Come for community, poetry, participatory ceremony, and simple circle dances, supported by the mesmerizing music of Sean Frenette. Hear Sean play his 3-string guitar on YouTube. Integrating classical technique, immersion in raga and other musical traditions, and fluency in contemporary western forms, Sean’s musical offerings range from lyrical, moving, and brilliant to playful and danceable.

In our candlelighting ceremony, all that we long to leave behind will turn into rich compost to nurture the seeds of beauty and hope we plant for the seasons ahead.

$15-$25 suggested donation, at the door with cash, check, or card, or in advance.* All are welcome. Donations benefit our programs to cultivate resilient hearts and spacious spirits. Kids who are comfortable with reflection and contemplative spaces are welcome with an adult. Children under 10: free, or youth 11-17: $5.

*Pay in advance on our Donate page and note “Solstice.” You will be on a list at the door. Or pay at the door. Modest funds are not a barrier. Everyone is welcome.
