Open Door Dharma: Being Here Now
We open with time to sit, chant, and breathe together, 3:30-4:30 pm
Then shift to Being Here Now, in conversation, 4:30 to 5:30 pm
Sundays July 12 & 26, and 2nd and 4th Sundays through Sept. 6.
Friends Meeting House, 4312 SE Stark, PDX, Room 12
The door is open, all are welcome ~
These Sunday afternoon circles begin with an hour of simple practice — sitting, chanting, and quiet meditation. After a short break at 4:30, we stretch and shift to conversation with tea and sweets. In the light of dharma teachings and principles, we reflect on the challenging time we live in, cultivating resilience and community as we listen and share. We take heart in being together, and seeing what emerges in the moment. Donations are welcome.
The space is fully accessible and carpeted, with comfortable chairs. Please bring a cushion if you prefer floor-sitting.
Open Door gatherings reflect teachings and practices shared by Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba, as well as Joanna Macy, Joan Halifax, and other dharma teachers, traditions, and lineages.
These gatherings and practices ease the heart as we nurture stability, belonging, and the resilience to be present no matter what arises.
The door is open, so come by when you can — to chant and be still, or for conversation later — or both.
