July 4 Interdependence = Resilience Potluck Picnic
5:00 til 7:00 or 8:00 pm, Laurelhurst Park Area F (see below)
These days, “our common bonds of affection” are sorely strained. Our picnic reaffirms the bonds we share with this place in the Pacific Northwest, and this Planet, and all people of good will and wild, generous hearts everywhere.
Come share veg & vegan foods, and good company in this picnic about community and resilience (no fireworks and flags). And good conversation about what’s good, and what’s facing our country today. Along with potluck foods, ad hoc music is welcome!
Interdependence and connection are the heart of community. All are welcome! BRING:
- A veg or vegan dish to share (foods you eat and enjoy).
- Your own plate and utensils, maybe a beverage*
- MUSIC! anything from flutes to fiddles, harps to harmoniums, banjos to bongos (whatever you play)!
- Family and friends of all ages (four-leggeds on leashes)
- * No alcohol or amplified music please (per the Park)
Laurelhurst Park Picnic Area F ~ 5:00 til 7 or 8:00 pm
On north side of the park, just a short walk west from the Ankeny entrance (and restroom area) toward the Brick Stairway
Let’s celebrate One Earth, One Heart—no one left out, an end to war and bigotry, and a turning toward the one great thrumming heart and the one steady wind breathing through every species and being that shares this tiny living planet.
