Interdependence & Resilience

July Potluck Picnic at Mount Tabor

5:30–7:30 pm ~ Mount Tabor East, Picnic Area B

(Facing Mt. Hood; see directions below)

Join us July 4 on the shady east side of Mount Tabor Park in Southeast Portland.

Come share veg & vegan foods and bright conversations in this time of volatile change and instability. Along with potluck foods, ad hoc music and poetry offerings are also welcome, reflecting interdependence and connection at the heart of community.  All are welcome.

  • Bring: A veg or vegan dish to share (or foods you like to eat).
  • Bring: Your own plate and utensils if possible, to minimize use of disposables.
  • Bring: Music from flutes to fiddles, harps to harmoniums, banjos to bongos (whatever you play)!
  • Bring: Family and friends of all ages, and four-legged friends on leashes.

See directions below.

These days, “our common bonds of affection” can seem less sure, and harder to find. Our picnic reaffirms the bonds we share with this Place and this Planet. On July 4, we celebrate One Earth, One Heart—one great thrumming of the heart and one steady wind breathing through countless species and forms that share this tiny living planet.

How to find us:

  • From SE Yamhill or Belmont: turn South for a block or 2 on SE 69th,, to the “T” that ends at Mount Tabor Drive.
  • From 69th, turn LEFT as you enter the park (walking, biking, or driving).
  • Within 100 or 200 yards, look for bright prayer flags along the railing on the left (east) side of the road.
  • Find parking along the road, or go back to the “T” and park on 69th, and stroll back in.
  • Questions? Please contact us.
